In 2001, I emigrated from Holland to California, and in 2002 I started my new job within Escort Memory Systems in Scotts Valley, CA, USA, as a Mechanical Design Engineer. This was a turning point in my personal and professional life.
Today, the mechanical design side of our RFID Products is still the main focus of my work. It ranges from 3-D CAD product and part design to physically building prototypes. Working with colleagues and suppliers for the right quality, parts, tools, or specialized knowledge needed for excellence in our products is what makes my job fun, interesting, and rewarding, and it challenges me to give my very best and to find creative solutions.
Transferring to Italy and working to train staff and personnel is a great opportunity to grow. It adds a new direction in my career of again adapting to a new country and culture, work methods, new colleagues and management styles, making new friends, and learning a new language.
Working for Datalogic allows me to show my two daughters that combining working for Datalogic and having a good education and work ethics are ingredients for a long lasting career. It is important to me that my work generates value for the company and growth for the people involved. Fortunately there is also time to train for my triathlons!
