Milan, Italy, November 25, 2008 - Datalogic S.p.A. was rewarded during the 2008 edition of the "American Chamber Transatlantic Award" for the "Industry" category. The award giving ceremony took place during this year's traditional Gala Dinner of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy (AmCham), which was held in the exhibition hall "Salone dei Tessuti" in Milan on the 25th November. The event's Guest of Honour was Mr. Ronald P. Spogli, His Excellency the Ambassador of the United States of America in Italy.

This prestigious recognition - conferred during the Gala dinner to Romano Volta and Roberto Tunioli, Chairman the former and CEO the latter of Datalogic - is assigned each year by the Board of AmCham Italy to meritorious businesses and professionals that make their mark in the economic and cultural relations between Italy and America. A reward that aims at highlighting the examples of success and excellence that characterise the transatlantic relationship. Excellence is what Datalogic has expressed, especially in the industrial field, confirming its leadership on the international market of bar code readers, data collection mobile computers, RFID systems, and photoelectric devices for the industrial automation sector.

The prize was assigned to Datalogic in view of the Group's ability to stand out from other manufacturers thanks to its skill in offering innovative solutions for various industries - in particular, manufacturing, transport & logistics and retail - and also because it has always been greatly involved in global and transnational challenges, in close relationship with the United States of America from an economic and cultural point of view.
"It's an honour for Datalogic to receive this award - Datalogic's Chairman, Romano Volta confirmed - assigned by the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy during this gala dinner. An important recognition that I devote to all the employees of Datalogic who I have the pleasure of knowing individually and who contribute, day-in-day-out, towards the growth of the Group and its stories of success".
